I tried submitting to dmoz.org several times without any success in the past. Everything I do always seem to fail when attempting to submit my website to this directory. So I have completely lost hope in trying to get any website included there. Either their staff is lacking in personnel, or they don't have enough staff members with enough experience, or both.

That's normal for DMOZ. They had a support forum on which you could ask your submission's status. So I asked one year after I submitted a site, they told me to come back in 6 months, they won't check until you waited 6 months after the first inquiry (not submission). 6 months later, they told me my site hadn't been reviewed and come back in another 6 months. So, in another 6 months, I asked again, I was told the site still hadn't been reviewed, they don't know why and they can't help.

Completely waste of time, they seem to have stopped the status inquiry.
